The long-awaited expansion to the hit web3 space sci-fi TCG (Trading Card Game), Parallel, Planetfall has launched May 1 and it has been a week since it hit the virtual shelves. Let’s see how it has fared on its first week from the perspective of the Parallel TCG players themselves.
MrKvak, one of the value Parallel TCG community member, released a somewhat review of Planetfall at its current state in terms of game balancing. In the review, it starts out by pointing out that Shroud has risen up the tier list with the following key cards leading the pack: Baron Squire, Adira the Ill Omen, Triumph of the Lost, and Treacherous Scheming.
He lists down the Parallels and their strengths and weaknesses during this expansion and TLDR for the whole thread: Shroud is on top, Kathari and Augencore are surely top 3, Marcolian and Earthen are easier to beat. The post, as of this article’s writing has garnered a total of 26.6K views and has the whole Parallel community looking on to its development.
Meanwhile, on the professional esports side of things, we have Sequinox, a professional Parallel player of YGG, narrows it down to just 2 playable decks in the current expansion, Scipius (Kathari) and New Dawn (Shroud).
From my own casual perspective though, I am happy that there are new cards that have been introduced and there are new gameplays and synergies that can be expected and some of them are yet to be discovered. It is too early to see what should be changed and what should remain the same. For now, I’ll enjoy Planetfall as a Shroud main and banish all my enemies.
