The YGG Play Summit Indus tournament concluded on November 20, 2024, with Kadiliman Esports triumphing over Sylphy Academy during the finals. The event saw 12 teams battling for a share of the US$10,000 prize pool. Kadiliman Esports players Bison, Pabi, Majo, Jayzee and Bluetzy received the grand prize of US$2,500 in USDC.

“Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up,” said Bison. The team’s winnings include an all-expenses-paid trip to India to represent the Philippines at the upcoming Indus International Tournament, which will have a total prize pool of INR 2.5 crores (approximately US$300,000). Kadiliman Esports also has professional teams for DOTA 2, Valorant, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and Honor of Kings.

Indus is a mobile battle royale game developed by SuperGaming on iOS and Android set in a futuristic world influenced by Indian mythology and culture. Players can choose a character, each with unique skills and weaponry. The game implements the classic battle royale formula, featuring a large shrinking map with different key locations to loot for weapons.

“It was incredible to witness the level of skill displayed by the teams at the YGG Play Summit. Kadiliman Esports’ victory is a testament to the competitive spirit that Indus aims to inspire,” said Karan Chabbra, Associate Director of Community at SuperGaming. “Watching the game thrive in the Philippines, with such a strong community, is a proud moment for us. We’re excited to see Kadiliman represent their country at the Indus International Tournament in India, where the stakes and the excitement will be even higher.”

The Indus tournament was the third held during the week at the YGG Play Summit, following Anichess and Arena of Faith tournaments held on Tuesday. Capping off the showdowns this week is the US$100,000 Parallel YGG Play Summit invitational.

“It was great to see Indus on the big screen, being played by a lot of professional teams in the Philippines. The tournament was really exciting as we saw how passionate and competitive the teams were. I’m also looking forward to seeing how our representatives fare against the top teams of India at the upcoming Indus International Tournament,” said abcd, YGG Pilipinas Community Gaming and Data Specialist.

Outside the tournaments, the YGG Play Summit has also seen the successful red-carpet premiere of the Metaverse Filipino Worker series, which took place at the SM Aura Premier Cinemas on November 20. The remaining three days of the Summit include the first in-person GAM3 Awards, a cosplay competition, and a  US$100,000 tournament for the trading card game sensation, Parallel.

Event attendees also have the opportunity to experience demos of new and upcoming web3 games at the event’s Gamer Expo, with 30 projects participating. Showmatches will likewise be held throughout the event, featuring well-known web3 personalities as players and shoutcasters.
