In apt collaboration, Kusho World partnered with the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Computer Science Society for their organization week, aptly themed “UNCHAINED: The Internet, Reimagined with Web 3.0”. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the exploration and adoption of Web 3.0 technologies among the academic community.
Throughout the event, Kusho World’s core team played a pivotal role in shaping the program and enriching the experience for attendees by facilitating engaging discussions and interactive sessions. The week was highlighted by the participation of two speakers from the industry, Pos2 from the Growth Team of Sky Mavis and Roikyuu, the Co-Lead and Lead Developer of Kusho World’s own Malaya Labs. Their insights and expertise offered students a unique perspective on the evolving landscape of Web 3.0 and blockchain technology.
In a move to further immerse students in the world of Web 3.0, Kusho World introduced an innovative experiment involving merchandise that served as a gateway to minting their first NFTs. Each piece of merchandise came equipped with a QR code that, when scanned, guided users through the process of claiming an ERC1155 NFT. This initiative not only made the onboarding process seamless and gasless but also granted students access to exclusive NFT traits for “Familiars“—a future collection themed around Filipino creature lore. The Trait NFTs from the were uniquely designed for the vent and only available to event attendees, making the future Familiars they will own, more unique.
This unique approach to introducing students to NFTs and blockchain technology underscores Kusho World’s commitment to fostering a new generation of web3 enthusiasts and builders. The success of the event and the enthusiastic participation of the students highlight the growing interest and potential for Web 3.0 technologies in educational settings.
This is the 2nd event supported by Kusho World to onboarding the next generation, last October—Kusho Lead spoke to students across 4 universities in partnership with University of Perpetual Help and their Student Council.
