The Largest Web3 Game, Pixels, Announces Chapter 2 and Sets Foundation For Creating an Ecosystem of Games

This week, the PH Blockchain Week (PBW) organizing team announced new headliners for the upcoming blockchain conference, including global fashion leader Michael Cinco’s metaverse fashion gala, Tier One Entertainment’s Nexus Fan Fair, and a special performance by the world’s first decentralized K-Pop idol group tripleS.

Launched in 2022, the first Philippine Blockchain Week attracted over 500 foreign participants, all eager to learn from industry thought leaders on all facets of  Web3 infrastructure, crypto, and more. This year’s run, slated for September 19 to 21, promises to be a much larger affair, build on new cross-sectoral partnerships.

“Last year exceeded our expectations, proving strong appetite for blockchain education and collaboration,ā€ said PBW convenor Donald Lim. ā€œThis year, we want to go bigger, showcasing more diverse use cases and inspiring more Filipinos to get involved in shaping the blockchain future.”

In his opening remarks, Donald also dove into the core mission of PBW 2023, which is to make the opportunities of Web3 more readily available to firms and institutions still rooted in the Web2 world. Referring to the week-long event as a Web2.5 initiative, his aim is to enable more innovators to reach mass adoption by bringing more traditional players to the table through PBW.

PBW will feature more than 150 local and global experts, with panels and workshops delving into decentralized finance, enterprise blockchain adoption, NFTs, AI, content creation, metaverse development, and crypto regulations.

At this week’s press gathering, the organizing team highlighted PBW’s marquee event, the Michael Cinco Metaverse Fashion Gala. For the first time, renowned designer Michael Cinco will showcase his cutting-edge digital couture and host an auction of some of his most iconic pieces, with part of the proceeds going to WWF-Philippines for the conservation of endangered species, and the Global Reskilling Movement, an international drive to providing better educational opportunities for the youth.

Also among the beneficiaries is the Global Spectrum Initiative, represented during this week’s press event by Michelle Dee. Recently crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023, Michelle spoke about her longstanding advocacy to provide more meaningful opportunities for autistic individuals, and her belief in blockchain as an enabling force in making these initiatives possible.

Headlining events

  • the Venture Capital Pitch Competition, where Filipino startups will have the opportunity to pitch for funding on stage and potentially secure a spot on CNN Philippines’ hit show ‘The Final Pitch,’ guided by star host John Aguilar;
  • the Nexus Fan Fair presented by Tier One Entertainment to unite fans, gamers, streamers, cosplayers and pop culture, featuring celebrity e-sports matches, artists, and performances;
  • and the concert of the world’s first decentralized K-pop idol group TripleS, also featuring P-pop group, G22.

For the second year running, PBW is proudly carbon neutral through the Carbonmark platform of Environmental Partner KlimaDAO.

“By bridging diverse sectors while spotlighting real-use applications, the PBW 2023 cracks open the promise of blockchain to uplift economies and societies,” the organizing committee said. “The week-long conference will give attendees the opportunity to forge connections and discover the future of Web 3 and its impact on various industries.”
