Further cementing its position as a global hub for Web3 innovation, the Philippines hosted the much-anticipated YGG Web3 Games Summit from November 18 to 25 at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. This landmark event, organized by Yield Guild Games (YGG), drew over 1,500 Web3 leaders from across the globe, solidifying the country’s position at the forefront of the Web3 gaming revolution.

The week-long summit featured a dynamic array of over 90 international and local speakers, including industry luminaries like Animoca Brands’ Yat Siu, Sky Mavis’ Jeffrey “Jihoz” Zirlin, and YGG’s own Gabby Dizon. These thought leaders delved into various facets of Web3 gaming, esports, content creation, and player adoption, offering invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of digital entertainment.

Highlighting the event was a three-day expo showcasing over 40 cutting-edge Web3 games, such as Ragnarok Landverse, Pixelmon, and Axie Infinity: Origins. This expo provided a unique platform for content creators and esports athletes to demonstrate their skills, engaging over 5,000 active gamers in attendance and online through regional watch parties.

Mench Dizon, Country Head of YGG Pilipinas, emphasized the summit’s significance, stating, “The Filipino Web3 gaming community is among the first to witness the industry’s future as blockchain technologies evolve. This event not only showcases the latest in gaming innovation but also reinforces the Philippines’ role as a key player in the global Web3 arena.”

The summit’s diverse program included a thrilling two-day hackathon with over 300 developers and students, and an esports tournament where participants competed for substantial cash prizes. Gabby Dizon, Co-founder of YGG, expressed his excitement about the summit’s success. “Bringing the best of Web3 games to the Philippines, where adoption is thriving, has been a remarkable experience,” he said. “This event not only celebrates current achievements but also paves the way for future innovations in the gaming world.”

As the world’s first and largest Web3 gaming guild, YGG is dedicated to enriching players’ experiences by fostering community, discovering new games, and developing essential skills for the Web3 era. The YGG Web3 Games Summit not only highlighted the intersection of gaming and Web3 but also provided a glimpse into the future of gaming, digital ownership, and the top Web3 projects globally.

With the successful conclusion of the YGG Web3 Games Summit, the Philippines has firmly established itself as a leader in Web3 adoption and a hotspot for the future of gaming. As the industry continues to evolve, the Filipino gaming community remains at the forefront, eagerly embracing the next wave of digital innovation.
